With its nearly two million inhabitants, Tijuana is now the way in to a number of resorts spread along the border as far as the Misión Del Sol in the Valle de Santo Tomas. It is a compulsory stopover on the way to the beaches and cliffs of the Californian coast, which is ideal for diving, fishing and other water sports, and the shortest way to the vineyards of Ensenada, now the center of a thriving grape growing and wine making area. It is also the closest point to the famous spa in the city of Tecate, the lunar landscape of la Rumorosa and the spectacular Sierra de Juarez as well as an ideal starting point for exploring the extensive Baja California Peninsula. How to get to Tijuana Mexico
From California, Tijuana is accessible via the San Ysidro and Otay Mesa border crossings. You can walk, drive or take a tour bus into the city. Tijuana's international airport hosts six major national airlines. While in the city, there are plenty of taxi cabs, rent-a-car companies, and bus services available to you.

By car

Entering Baja for up to 72 hours and exploring as far south as the seaport city of Ensenada requires no visa or other paperwork for U.S. or other citizens. Simply drive across the border (as almost 180,000 people do each day). For Baja stays beyond 72 hours a tourist card is required.

And whether you stay the day, the night or the weekend, you can return to the U.S. just as easily as you came in. Only non-U.S. residents must present passports and visas for entry. A U.S. citizen need only proof of citizenship, like a copy of birth certificate, to enter California and rarely is requested.

By air
The main door of entrance in the state via air is the International Airport of Tijuana which is served by all Mexican airlines from destinations all over the Country. This airport serves more than 120 flights daily, it has two landing strips with 9 and 12 thousand feet of longitude that cover the needs of private, cargo and commercial flights.

A Private aviation Airport is In San Felipe, a military one in Ensenada and in Mexicali there's alarge airport facility that operate 14 flights a day with 3 of the main Mexican Airlines.

Activities & attractions in Tijuana Mexico
Fishing in baja california beaches
The coastline north of Baja California on the Pacific Coast offers facilities for catching marlin, sailfish, dorado and swordfish, with boats setting off from several docks between Tijuana and Ensenada.

The 15-km wide Bahía de Todos Los Santos and the open sea of the cold Pacific Ocean are excellent places for fishing jurel, flounder, porgy, and cabrilla fishing. All facilities required to practice this sport are available at the dock.

Practicing your favorite sport in Tijuana
Whether you are a player or a spectator, Tijuana has the sports for you. "Tee it up" on one of Tijuana's beautiful challenging golf courses. Try out your bowling skills, watch a bullfight, or catch a professional soccer match. Experience all the action that is Tijuana.
The coast along the Tijuana-Ensenada tourist scenic highway has several beaches that are perfect for water sports, such as Primo Tapia, near Rosarito.

Extreme sports in Tijuana
The cliffs lining the strip of coast between Tijuana and Ensenada are ideal for sailing kites or paragliding, as in Cantamar Beach. The views of Rosarito beach and the enormous Primo Tapia sand dunes are stunning from the air.

There are two excellent golf courses in Tijuana, besides the one located in Ensenada. Real Del Mar Golf Course, located at 19.5 Km (12 Mile) scenic road Tijuana-Ensenada, with an 18 hole professional course with spectacular ocean views. Also offers pro-shop, restaurant, hotel and spa. Tijuana Country Club, located in Agua Caliente Blvd. with an 18 hole professional course surrounding Tijuana's best residential area. Open to the public.

Hopódromo Caliente (Race Track and Sports Beeting Club)
Great Greyhound racing track that also offers bingo, sports bets, restaurant and bar; with capacity for 700 people at tables for 6. Open Daily

This park offers kiosks for children parties, kid's train, barbeque pits and soda fountain.
